Around 8 a.m. six teenage Muslim girls were on their way to school in Afghanistan, when two men on motorcycles sprayed them with battery acid.
All of the girls were burned and two are now blind.
Kandahar government spokesman, Parwaz Ayoubi, called the attackers “enemies of education.”
A few hours later a suicide bomber killed and wounded several civilians, including women and children.
Gen. David McKiernan, a top US commander in Afghanistan, posted this statement on the website of the International Security Assistance Force: “No one can honestly say they are fighting for the people, then purposefully attack innocent women and children.”
Well, duh.
Of course they’re not “fighting for the people.” These violent men are misogynists, indocrinated from birth – under the guise of religion – to hate women.
My heart is breaking.
Mosque Expects Canadian Workplace to Respect Islamic “Law,” but Spews Hatred Against Jews and Western Society November 12, 2008

Eight Muslim women, who were fired from their jobs at UPS for refusing to follow safety rules, are fighting for their right to remain oppressed.
What’s so disconcerting, is they claim to freely pick and choose whatever Islamic “law” suits them.
In this case, they’ve, supposedly, chosen to be covered from head to toe, even if it means falling from a ladder and breaking their necks.
It defies logic. What self-respecting woman voluntarily chooses to risk her life over a dress?
Furthermore, if they are free to follow certain “laws” and not others, then, obviously, Islamic “law” is not “law” at all. Either way, the argument is moot, because Shariah “law” most certainly does not apply in Canada, and should not be used as an excuse (and it is an excuse) to break workplace rules, while crying “Islamophobia.”
Even more odious, the mosque these women attend demands respect for their own religion, while openly inciting hatred against non-Muslims – calling non-believers “wicked,” “corrupt” and “clear enemies.”
The text of the following article is by Steve Russell of the Toronto Star.
A mosque asking that Canadian workplaces respect a strict Muslim dress code is at the same time disseminating slurs against Jews and Western societies, and warning members against social integration.
The Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque near Kipling Ave. and Rexdale Blvd. serves as the religious authority for eight Somali women complaining to the Canadian Human Rights Commission that UPS Canada Ltd. violated their religious rights at a sorting plant.
The mosque, founded in 1990 and serving upwards of 10,000 people, preaches strict adherence to sharia, or Islamic law, and no compromise with the West.
Teachings on the mosque’s website, khalidmosque.com, refer to non-Muslim Westerners as “wicked,” “corrupt” and “our clear enemies.”
Sometimes Jews are singled out.
“Is it permissible for women to wear high-heeled shoes?” begins one posting in question-and-answer format.
“That is not permissible,” comes the reply. “It involves resembling the Disbelieving Women or the wicked women. It has its origin among the Jewish women.”
Modern pastimes are condemned.
“What is the ruling on subscribing to sports channels?” another question begins.
“Watching some of the female spectators, when the camera focuses on them time after time” stirs “evil inclinations,” the lesson reads. “Some (players) may not even believe in Allaah.”
Mosque leaders refused repeated requests for an interview.
A disclaimer on the website says questions and answers do not necessarily reflect the mosque’s views. But the About Us page says: “All questions and answers on this site (are) prepared, approved and supervised by (the mosque’s imam) Bashir Yusuf Shiil.”
The mosque’s stand on the UPS case also appears contradictory.
In September, a Canadian Human Rights Tribunal heard two weeks of testimony from eight mosque members alleging “Islamophobia” at the company’s west Toronto plant. Three final days of testimony are scheduled for next week.
The eight women, who lost their jobs at UPS, say Islam dictates that they wear a full-length skirt for modesty. The courier company insists that any skirt be knee-length for safety, as workers climb ladders up to 6 metres high.
Under their skirt, the women wear full-length trousers but say they do not want the lower part showing in case the shape of the calf can be discerned.
The complaint originally centred on the company’s use of temporary workers and uneven enforcement of its safety rules.
But the key question remains: Is UPS insisting on shorter hems for safety or is it violating religious rights by denying the women permanent jobs unless they conform?
So far, no Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque representative has attended the sessions, but the women cited the mosque as their place of worship and religious authority, and tabled a letter from its administration.
“This is to certify that the religion of Islam requires all Muslim women to cover her entire body inclusive of the legs, arms, head, ears and neck,” the letter reads. “As such, (the women) would not be able to wear pants as an outfit.”
On the other hand, the mosque’s website teachings forbid women to work outside the home in the first place.
“It is known that when women go to work in the workplaces of men, this leads to mixing with men,” one such posting says.
“This is a very dangerous matter,” it reads. “It is in clear opposition to the texts of the Shariah that order the women to remain in their houses and to fulfill the type of work that is particular for her …
“We ask Allah to protect our land and the lands of all Muslims from the plots and machinations of their enemies.”
Two of the women making the complaint – Dales Yusuf, 46, and Nadifo Yusuf (no relation), 36 – said in an interview that they live in Canada now, and are free to pick and choose from Islamic law.
“We must work,” said Dales Yusuf. “I’m a single parent raising my kids.”
Jacquie Chic, a lawyer with the Workers’ Action Centre representing the women at the hearings, said neither she nor her clients were aware of the mosque’s posted teachings.
“I, the Workers’ Centre and these women are concerned enormously about any expression of anti-Semitism or any other form of racism,” she said.
Questions to the mosque about its teachings were met with evasiveness over three weeks.
Mosque chairman Osman Mohamed three times agreed to an interview and three times cancelled at last minute. Imam Shiil was said to be in Saudi Arabia and unreachable.
Mosque administrator Abukar Mohamed confused matters further by appearing to agree with UPS, saying:
“The Quran says women must be covered – it doesn’t give you the specific clothes. But I am not a religious authority.”
Swallowing Snot May Offend Allah! November 2, 2008

I’ve been suffering from some nasty phlegm issues lately, related to a condition called LPR (Laryngopharyngeal Reflux).
The mucous just sits there, in the back of my throat, and I can’t expel it, no matter how hard I try. Not pretty, not sexy, and extremely frustrating! (I know, I know – too much information.)
Anyway, in searching for some relief, I came across the following on islamtoday.net:
Question:
“I was praying an obligatory prayer and I had mucous in my mouth out of nowhere. I became confused and swallowed. I was also fasting at the time. Please tell me if my prayer and my fast are valid.”
Answer by Sheikh Muhammad b. Sâlih al-`Uthaymîn:
“Phlegm and mucous that do not reach the mouth do not cause the fast to break. This is the only opinion expressed on the matter in the (Hanbalî) school of law. If the phlegm and mucous reach the mouth and then the person swallows it back down, there is disagreement among the scholars regarding whether it breaks the fast. One opinion is that it does break the fast. They compare swallowing phlegm and mucous to the activities of eating and drinking. The other opinion is that it does not break the fast. They regard phlegm and mucous to be comparable to saliva. Even if a person gathers saliva in his mouth and swallows it, this will not break his fast. In a case where the scholars are divided in their opinions, then the matter must be referred back to the Qur’ân and Sunnah. Since we are in doubt about whether ingesting phlegm and mucous invalidates the fast, we must consider that the default assumption in Islamic Law in the absence of other evidence is that it does not do so. Based on this default assumption, we would say that it does not break the fast.”
Answer by Sheikh `Abd Allah b. Jibrîn:
“As a general rule, it is forbidden to deliberately swallow mucous on account of its dirtiness. It does not matter whether it comes from of from the throat or from the nose. If someone brings phlegm up from his chest into his mouth and then swallows it again, then he has broken his fast, since he has swallowed a substance that he could have avoided swallowing. On the other hand, if mucus descends on its own to his throat and is swallowed along with his saliva, it will not invalidate his fast. Please note that whatever invalidates a fast in this regard also invalidates prayer.”
This is beyond insane!
Religious “scholars” have actually debated whether or not swallowing mucous invalidates a fast?
It’s a bodily function for goodness’ sake! Do they seriously think their omniscient Allah – if he existed – would give a rat’s ass about such inconsequential nonsense?
Come on people, wake up and get a brain!

An armed soldier guards onlookers at the site of the stoning.
A 13-year-old Somalian girl was raped by three men and then stoned to death by dozens of Islamic militants, as punishment for committing “adultery.”
Hundreds of people watched, as Aisha Duhulow was placed in a hole up to her neck for the execution. Stones were hurled at her head, and she was brought out of the hole three times to see if she was dead yet.
“This child suffered a horrendous death at the behest of the armed opposition groups who currently control Kismayo,” David Copeman, Amnesty International’s Somalia campaigner, said in a statement Friday.
Islamist leaders at the execution said the girl (who was erroneously reported to be 23) had breached Islamic law.

Chain Wrapped Around ‘Old Man’s Body’ Found in Mosque
From CNN.com, by Arwa Damon
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — “There are the bloodstains on the wall, and here it is dried on the floor,” Abu Muhanad said as he walked through a torture chamber in a Baghdad mosque where more than two dozen bodies have been found.
“And here, a woman’s shoes. She was a victim of the militia. We found her corpse in the grave.”
Chunks of hair waft lazily across the floor in the hot Baghdad breeze.
“This was the torture room,” said Muhanad, the leader of a U.S.-backed armed group that now controls the mosque.
“This is what they used for hanging,” he said, pointing to a cord dangling from the ceiling. “Here is a chain we found tied to an old man’s body.”
The horrific scene at this southwestern Baghdad mosque is what officials say was the work of a Shia militia known as the Mehdi Army. Residents who live near the mosque say they could hear the victims’ screams.
The militia had been in control of the mosque, called Adib al-Jumaili, for at least a year and a half.
The neighborhood lies in an area that became one of the capital’s many sectarian fault lines when violence was at its worst.
It’s been about three months since the Mehdi Army, loyal to radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, abandoned this mosque as it withdrew from several strongholds across the country.
Spray painted on the walls is a chilling warning: “Spies, you will dig your own graves. Long live the Mehdi Army.”
Now the mosque is under the watch of the Sons of Iraq, a local armed group that is largely financed by the Americans working alongside the Iraqi police. They are charged with trying to keep the peace in the neighborhood.
Muhanad is their leader.
“We found this chain on an old man’s corpse that we dug out of the grave,” he said, gesturing to a bloodied chain on the floor. “We recovered about 22 corpses and then another five.”
Only now are people able to understand the true magnitude of the Shiite militia’s atrocities and the brutal laws they were enforcing on the people.
“This was my son’s grave,” Abu Wissam said, pointing to one of the many shallow holes in the mosque’s garden. “We recovered his corpse completely rotten. His hands and legs were amputated, and his head was decapitated.”
“He was just a college graduate,” his mother sobbed, clutching her 25-year-old son’s photo.
They say the Mehdi Army abducted their son about a year ago, accusing him of being a traitor. They shot up and looted his home. The family fled.
A gruesome video of their son’s mutilated body was delivered to their doorstep.
The militia “still raid our homes,” Abu Wissam said. “Their families are in the district. The day before yesterday, at noon, they tried to assassinate me, but I was able to call the police for help.”
The neighborhood is eerily deserted. Most of the residents fled the militia’s reign; many who stayed bore the brunt of the violence. Homes stand abandoned, shops shuttered, buildings shot up.
A single car drives down the main street as a pack of dogs runs through the twisted piles of metal that was once an outdoor market.
Lingering at the mosque are a handful of residents whose loved ones were also abducted, looking for clues.
“They said they were just taking him for a few minutes, for an investigation,” said Karima, who only wanted to be identified by her first name, as her eyes filled with tears. “But they never released him and we heard he might be buried behind the mosque.”
Umm Diab’s breath came in shallow gasps as tears flowed from her turquoise-green eyes. She wiped them away using the corner of her abaya. In her hand, there’s a passport photo of her father, who was abducted by the militia.
“All we want are their dead bodies,” she said.
Although the Mehdi Army has moved out of this mosque and is less visible on the street, residents know that they’re not gone.
“They’re still threatening us,” Umm Diab said.
Afraid of the Truth? Fear of Muslim Violence: “Pornographic” Historical Novel Pulled August 12, 2008

Fundamentalist Muslims like to kill people, while moderate Muslims are easily offended.
Why?
I think it’s because their so-called “prophet” is an embarrassment… and woe be to anyone who draws attention to his sexual exploits.
For those of you who don’t know the story, here’s a quick recap:
At the age of 49, Muhammad was betrothed to a six-year-old girl named Aisha, who was the daughter of his friend Abu Bakr.
Three years later, at the age of nine, Aisha began menstruating: a sign for old man Muhammad to “marry” the child and sexually consummate their union.
Now, Muslims can sugarcoat this all they want – but adults who have sex with children are called pedophiles. They are child rapists who should be locked up and castrated. In other words, they are the usual sort of scum who convince themselves and their mindless followers that they are “prophets” of “god.”
So when a book by Sherry Jones dared to describe Muhammad’s very real sexual relationship with his child-bride… wouldn’tcha know it?… all hell broke loose.
According to Muslim journalist, Asra Q. Nomani, before writing The Jewel of Medina: A Tale of Lust, Love and Intrigue in the Prophet’s Harem, Ms. Jones learned Arabic, studied scholarly works about Aisha’s life, and came to admire her protagonist as a woman of courage. For her efforts, Ms. Jones signed a $100,000, two-book deal with Random House and The Jewel of Medina was slated to hit the streets today.
But Random House chickened out and reneged on their deal, because “credible and unrelated sources” said “the publication of this book might be offensive to some in the Muslim community… and could incite acts of violence by a small, radical segment.”
Denise Spellberg, an associate professor of Islamic history at the University of Texas in Austin, is allegedly the one who instigated the panic.
According to Ms. Nomani, Ms. Spellberg contacted Shahed Amanullah, the editor of a popular Muslim website, and told him that the novel “made fun of Muslims and their history” and asked him to warn Muslims.
Mr. Amanullah then sent an e-mail to a listserv of Middle East and Islamic studies grad students, telling them that the forthcoming novel was found to be “incredibly offensive.”
The next day, Mr. Amanullah’s e-mail was posted on “Hussaini Youth,” a website for Shiite Muslims, with the headline, “Upcoming book, ‘Jewel of Medina’: A new attempt to slander the Prophet of Islam.”
Then some guy by the name of Ali Hemani proposed “a seven-point strategy” to ensure “the writer withdraws this book from the stores and apologise[s] [to] all the muslims across the world.”
Meanwhile, an editor at Random House’s Knopf imprint sent an e-mail to Knopf executives informing them that Ms. Spellberg thought there was a “very real possibility of major danger for the building and staff and widespread violence… a declaration of war… explosive stuff… a national security issue… far more controversial than the satanic verses and the Danish cartoons… [and] thinks the book should be withdrawn ASAP.”
Finally, the author was told that the publishing of her novel was indefinitely postponed for “fear of a possible terrorist threat from extremist Muslims” and concern for “the safety and security of the Random House building and employees.”
In defence of the book, Ms. Nomani writes, “For all those who believe the life of the prophet Muhammad can’t include stories of lust, anger and doubt, we need only read the Quran (18:110) where, it’s said, God instructed Muhammad to tell others: ‘I am only a mortal like you.’”
Muhammad was mortal all right, but rest assured, his “instructions” from Allah were nothing more than the voices in his head.
Ms. Spellberg called the novel a “very ugly, stupid piece of work.” Perhaps what she really meant was that Muhammad was a “very ugly, stupid piece of work.”
Here is an excerpt from the book:
This was the beginning of something new, something terrible. Soon I would be lying on my bed beneath him, squashed like a scarab beetle, flailing and sobbing while he slammed himself against me. He would not want to hurt me, but how could he help it? It’s always painful the first time.
The pain of consummation soon melted away. Muhammad was so gentle. I hardly felt the scorpion’s sting. To be in his arms, skin to skin, was the bliss I had longed for all my life.”
Ms. Spellberg is quoted as saying, “I don’t have a problem with historical fiction. I do have a problem with the deliberate misinterpretation of history. You can’t play with a sacred history and turn it into soft core pornography.”
Obviously, I don’t believe there’s anything “sacred” about Mohammad’s life. But I do think Ms. Spellberg has a point about “deliberate misinterpretation,” as I’m quite certain a nine-year-old girl would not have “longed” to be raped by a 52-year-old man.
As I said, Muhammad is likely an embarrassment to his modern-day followers who don’t have the cojones to admit their “prophet” was nothing but a sexual deviant, a womanizer, and a charlatan.
Sherry Jones was quoted as saying, “My portrayal of Muhammad is extremely respectful, and of the origins of Islam is very accurate and respectful… Muhammad says in the Koran that he was a mortal. I assume he did all the things a man does. He had 12 wives – I’m sure he had sex with them.”
Of course he did. But shhh…. don’t tell anybody.
